GE Expands Team of eVent fabrics Product Managers
Company Hires Zane Clark and Promotes Chad Kelly and Bin Yang to New Roles
KANSAS CITY, MO. – July 7, 2011 – GE Energy announced today the expansion of its eVent® fabrics product team with the hire of Zane Clark and the promotions of Chad Kelly and Bin Yang. These changes further strengthen GE’s flexible, brand-optional, customer-focused mission with category-specific leaders.
Clark—most recently a Product Development Manager with Bass Pro Shops—has been hired as the product manager for footwear fabrics. In his new role, Clark will oversee the footwear product line, including membranes, laminates and tapes sold to the professional and consumer footwear markets. Clark worked in business development and product management during his 18 years with Bass Pro Shops. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Missouri State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology (with Chemistry minor) from Southwest Missouri State University.
Kelly—a longtime veteran of the eVent fabrics product team—is now the product manager for outerwear fabrics. Most recently, Kelly managed footwear fabrics, and he brings more than 15 years experience in sales and product management to his new role. Kelly attended St. Johns University in Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Government.
Both Kelly and Clark will be based in Kansas City.
Finally, in Asia, Yang has been promoted to the position of product manager for roll goods. In his new and expanded role, Yang will be responsible for the eVent fabrics, Preveil and Aspire product lines throughout Asia. Yang joined GE in 2007 and has extensive knowledge of rolled goods product lines, development and experience with customers’ needs. Yang, who is based in Shanghai, China, holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from the East China University of Science and Technology.
"These promotions and the addition of Zane Clark strengthen our team significantly," said Glenn Crowther, global product line leader for eVent fabrics for GE. "These changes position GE well to serve our existing and new customers."
About eVent membrane technology and fabrics
Since 1999, eVent fabrics have set the standard for truly air permeable and waterproof membranes in textiles. The patented technology used to create eVent membranes was invented in the 1990s to improve the pollutant-capturing performance of air filtration systems and give superior protection to industrial machinery such as gas turbines. eVent membranes—with billions of pores per square inch—are now widely used for filtration, venting, and as a waterproof breathable barrier for products used in the automotive, medical, industrial, apparel, and other markets.
eVent fabrics—found in outdoor, protective and military apparel and footwear—were the first and are the only waterproof performance fabrics on the market that vent directly to ‘let the sweat out.’ GE, through GE Energy’s Environmental Services division located in Kansas City, Mo., manufactures both the eVent membranes and fabrics, and partners with worldwide suppliers to offer a broad selection of textiles to manufacturers.
